This standard is based on more than 24 years of experience in the market and on the predecessor systems of KNX: EIB, EHS and BatiBUS. Through the KNX transmission medium (twisted pair, radio frequency, power line or IP/Ethernet), on which all the devices are connected, communication is exchanged.

 

The devices connected to the bus can be both sensors and actuators used for the control of building management equipment in all possible applications: lighting, blinds / shutters, security systems, energy management, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, systems supervision and signaling, interfaces to services and building control systems, remote control, measurement, audio / video, control of white goods, etc.

 

All these functions can be controlled, supervised and signaled using a uniform system without the need for additional control centers.
